 | Congresswoman Lois Capps (District 23) made a visit to the office Saalex Solutions Inc. on Monday, March 21. The visit coincided with an open house held by Saalex in part to celebrate the recent 8 (a) award win to provide systems engineering and technical contract for the Naval surface weapons program, and the winning of the prestigious 2005 Nunn-Perry Award as an outstanding small business under the Department of Defense, (DOD) Mentor-Protégé (MP) Program with Northrop Grumman Space Technology. | The prestigious Nunn-Perry Award, named in honor of former Senator Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry, was first awarded in 1995 to recognize outstanding Mentor-Protégé teams formed under the auspices of the DoD Mentor-Protégé program. In 2005, 10 awards were presented nation-wide.
President and CEO of Saalex Solutions, Travis Mack, welcomed the Congresswoman, who took the opportunity to speak with staff, and to listen to questions from topics ranging from government programs for small business to the rising cost of providing health insurance as a small employer.
“We are honored to have Congresswoman Capps take time out of her busy schedule to visit a local small business” said Mack.
In December, Saalex was awarded the Corporate World Class Team Small Business Development Award by Northrop Grumman Space Technology Sector. This award is given to the supplier who has consistently demonstrated outstanding achievements and support of Northrop Grumman programs.
