Saalex has been awarded a Seaport-e ID/IQ Prime Contract with the Navy worth more than $5 billion Under the Seaport-e vehicle, Saalex Solutions Inc. will provide support to the U.S. Navy for all phases of weapons-systems acquisition and life-cycle support. Saalex now joins a select group of large and small companies entitled to bid on Navy contracts through the paperless Web-based procurement system. “Obtaining a Seaport-e prime contract has been one of our top priorities, and winning one is extremely important to the future of our company,” says Saalex President and CEO Travis Mack. “It was something we needed to accomplish as part of our strategic foundation, because if you don’t have access to this critical system, you can’t effectively do business with the Navy.” Through Seaport-e, Saalex can now bid to offer services in 21 functional areas. They include research and development, prototyping, acquisition logistics, modeling, testing and evaluation, and engineering support for the Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Air Systems Command, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, Naval Supply Systems Command, Military Sealift Command, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Strategic Systems Programs and the United States Marine Corps.
