Saalex Wins Prestigious Nunn-Perry Award

Saalex Solutions Inc. has won the 2005 Nunn-Perry Award, as an outstanding small business under the Department of Defense, (DOD) Mentor-Protégé (MP) Program with Northrop Grumman Space Technology. The prestigious Nunn-Perry Award, named in honor of former Senator Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry, was first awarded in 1995 to recognize outstanding Mentor-Protégé teams formed under the auspices of the DoD Mentor-Protégé program. The Department of Defense (DoD) Mentor-Protégé (MP) Program has offered substantial assistance to small disadvantaged business (SDB) firms for over 10 years, and has helped to expand the overall base of the small business marketplace and in turn helps to produce more jobs and increase national income. Many mentor firms, such as Northrop Grumman have been an integral part of the program providing planning resources and guidance in the development of business and technical capabilities to help diversify the small business customer base. All eligible nominations are reviewed and numerically scored by a review panel, whose members are chosen at the discretion of the DoD Director, OSADBU. The review panel presents their nominations in order of ranking to the DoD Director, OSADBU, for consideration for award. The number of awards are at the discretion of the Department of Defense. In 2005 there are 10 awards being presented nationwide.
